We see things differently
What we do
Our Commodity Futures Weekly Newsletter is more than just a market recap.
Contango Futures Advisory Inc. is a unique subscription-based commodity futures newsletter service. We provide timely insight and analysis on futures contracts, the direction of interest rates and the stock market, and our commodity bulls and bears.
Insight for the savvy investor.
Often at Contango Futures, we find ourselves at odds with the standard thinking about when to buy and sell stocks and commodities, especially as it relates to contango and backwardation. Some say one can never time the market but in futures trading, timing is a key component of success.
We follow and interpret the movements of intra-commodity spreads.
Understanding price spreads provides critical insight into the demand/supply balance of an underlying commodity. By focusing on the changes between contango and backwardation, we illustrate the importance of these spreads and their connection with the price direction.
Our Commodity Futures Weekly Newsletter provides clear and concise information, timely perspectives and actionable analysis for:
Trading professionals
Seasoned retail investors
Those looking to expand their trading knowledge
Contango Futures Advisory, Inc. was founded by Carl Loffmark, a former registered commodity futures and stock representative in both Canada and the United States. After graduating from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics, Carl became a registered commodity futures representative where he specialized in agricultural commodities, working directly with commercial hedgers incorporating investing strategies using both futures contracts and basis contracts. Working alongside seasoned industry professionals, Carl honed his skills as a futures trader and developed a commodity trader checklist which incorporates all that he has learned.
Carl has been following and involved in the commodity futures markets for more than 35 years and has a wealth of information to share with his subscribers. He interprets movements in intra-commodity spreads, analyzes open interest trends, and tracks other market indicators, providing insightful perspectives that are the foundation for effective trading strategies.
